We are sad to report the likely loss of actor and charismatic performer Julian Sands. On January 13th, 2023, Julian Sands went missing during an off-trail hike in California’s Mt. Baldy area. Now, six months later, hikers located human remains, presumed to be those of the beloved actor.
Over the course of his career, Julian Sands had gained the admiration of fans and peers alike for his roles as a dashing and intense performer in films like A Room With A View, Arachnophobia, and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
Stargate fans will know Julian Sands as Doci, the highest character of the Ori. In the series, the Ori spoke through Doci, making him the face of the show’s most dangerous enemy. His talent and energy brought intensity to the Ori story arch, and helped to conclude the same in the feature film The Ark Of Truth.
Julian Sands will be missed by fans and eternally remembered by his family and friends. His family released a statement that read “We continue to hold Julian in our hearts with continue to hold bright memories of him as a wonderful father, husband, explorer, lover of the natural world and the arts, and as an original and collaborative performer.”
