Real Life Replicator

As part of a sci-fi themed contest, Stargate fan Wyatt Olson built this hexabot themed loosely after the replicators from Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis. The bot, which it’s builder named Stubby, was built from a collection of wooden parts and micro servos. The brain of this little bug is an ATMega 1284 micro controller. Thankfully the bot takes orders from a modified game controller and not from a queen replicator.

At a raw material cost of $150 to build one bug, perhaps the inspired fan will build a small group of these for parading at Stargate themed conventions.
