Stargate fans who have been going through convention withdrawal can now look forward to planning their next trip to Vancouver. Gatecon has announced that they will be holding their 2018 convention September 14 – 16 at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel.
The exact format of the convention has not been decided yet by the organizers, but they have suggested that the convention might incorporate other Vancouver based productions in addition to Stargate. Diversifying into other shows might be the only viable way for Gatecon to continue, especially considering the only other Stargate convention in North America shut down after a few years of dwindling attendance.
Gatecon had previously returned to the convention scene in 2016 after going on hiatus for several years.
